Application of glutathione in breeding

 

Glutathione (GSH) is the most abundant low molecular weight thiol compound in cells. It mainly exists in the reduced form in eukaryotic cells. Glutathione is the most abundant non-protein compound in cells. Thiol peptides. In some animal experiments, it was found that GSH has the effects of resisting oxidative stress, detoxifying, improving immunity, and promoting growth and development. Adding it to feed will be beneficial to the healthy breeding of animals.

Function of dietary glutathione supplementation in different species and its mechanism:

1.Litopenaeus vannamet

Glutathione can improve growth performance by promoting liver function and enhance immunity by increasing antioxidant enzyme activity.

2.Grass carp

Improve innate immunity, anti-oxidative stress and detoxification functions through glutathione's ability to scavenge free radicals and antioxidants.

3.Carp

Improve growth performance, survival rate, antioxidant capacity and non-specific immunity by regulating the expression of antioxidant enzymes, inflammatory factors and oxidative stress-related genes.

4.Piglet

Improves Piglet's skin color, improves growth performance, and increases Piglet's muscle antioxidant capacity by increasing serum antioxidant enzyme activity and reducing malondialdehyde (MDA) content.

5.Broiler

By enhancing the secretion of insulin-like growth factor-Ⅰ (IGF-Ⅰ) in the liver, it increases the IGF-Ⅰ content in the blood, promotes broiler growth, and improves antioxidant capacity.

6.Mutton sheep

Increase the levels of IGF-I and growth hormone (GH) in the serum of Mutton sheep and promote the growth of Mutton sheep.

It is believed that glutathione will have broader development prospects in animal production in the future and will also have a positive impact on the development of the livestock and poultry industry.
